À propos de ce son

The short death sound from Flappy Bird, the mobile game by dotGears. People use it in memes and edits to mark a fail, crash or sudden game over.

This clip is the tiny game over sound heard when Flappy Bird dies after hitting a pipe or the ground. It is very short, sharp and instantly readable to anyone who has played or watched the game, so it works like a compact failure cue. Because it lands fast and ends cleanly, creators use it to punctuate botched jumps, awkward mistakes and sudden losses. The sound gives a moment an old mobile game feel and makes the failure feel a little more comedic than dramatic.

This sound comes from Flappy Bird, the mobile game created by Dong Nguyen and released by dotGears in 2013. The game became a viral hit because of its simple controls and punishing difficulty, and its death cue became recognizable through gameplay clips, reaction videos and meme edits. It is still used because the sound is brief, clear and instantly signals failure without needing dialogue. Online, it often fills the same role as GTA SA Mission Passed, but for losing instead of winning.
