À propos de ce son

The classic ba dum tss rimshot sting, a short drum punchline sound used after cheesy jokes, awkward one-liners and obvious dad joke moments.

This sound is the classic comic rimshot: a quick ba dum followed by a sharp tss cymbal hit. It is short, punchy and instantly tells the listener that a joke just landed, whether it was genuinely funny or painfully corny. The clipped drum rhythm gives a scene a playful, old-school comedy feel, and it works especially well when paired with a pause, a stare at the camera or a deliberately bad pun. Viewers recognize it immediately as the universal punchline cue.

The ba dum tss rimshot comes from live comedy and variety performance traditions, where drummers would accent a comedian's punchline with a quick snare-and-cymbal sting. Over time it became a standard audio shorthand for jokes, especially bad or intentionally corny ones. Online, the sound spread through meme edits, YouTube comedy clips and short-form reaction videos because it instantly signals, without explanation, that the previous line should be read as a punchline. It remains popular because the rhythm is simple, familiar and easy to place in almost any edit.
