JonTron's frustrated ech sound effect from his gaming reviews, used as a short reaction clip for disgust, disbelief or an awkward bad take online.

This is JonTron delivering his signature drawn out ech noise, a guttural sound of pure irritation and disgust. Recorded in half a second, it captures his voice cracking with frustration as if he has just seen something cursed or heard a terrible opinion. The clip is abrupt and nasal, more of a recoiling groan than a word, which makes it instantly readable even without video. Viewers hear it and immediately feel secondhand embarrassment or disapproval, making it perfect for punctuating a moment that is meant to feel wrong or cringe.

The sound comes from JonTron, the YouTube comedy gaming channel created by Jon Jafari, where exaggerated vocal reactions became a running signature. His short ech exclamation was clipped from review videos and spread across YouTube edits, Discord servers and meme compilations as a universal sign of disgust. Unlike longer rants, this half second version became popular on soundboards because it can be spammed or timed instantly. It remains widely used years later because JonTron's delivery is recognisable even out of context.
