Über diesen Sound

A short clip of Smell of the Game, the main theme from Guilty Gear Strive, used for fighting-game edits, battle montages, and dramatic reveals.

This 20-second excerpt comes from Smell of the Game, the hard-rock main theme associated with Guilty Gear Strive. Its distorted guitar riffs, forceful drums, and powerful English vocals create the heightened energy of a climactic fighting-game battle. The track balances heavy metal intensity with an anthemic, theatrical style that matches the series’ bold characters and fast combat. In videos, the sound can make an entrance feel larger, turn a gameplay highlight into a dramatic showdown, or add knowingly excessive power to an otherwise ordinary moment.

Smell of the Game is the main theme of Guilty Gear Strive, the 2021 fighting game developed by Arc System Works. The song was composed by Guilty Gear creator and composer Daisuke Ishiwatari, with vocals performed by NAOKI. It became closely associated with the game through its early promotional trailers and bold heavy-rock presentation. Fans continue using excerpts in gameplay compilations, character tributes, fighting-game discussions, and memes because its theatrical vocals and driving instrumentation immediately suggest conflict, confidence, and over-the-top action.
