A do not touch meme clip that triggers Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up, used for bait-and-switch pranks, surprise reveals, and joke links.

This 31-second clip delivers the familiar musical payoff of a rickroll after tempting someone with a “do not touch” warning. The upbeat pop vocals and instantly recognizable melody turn curiosity into a playful bait-and-switch joke. Because the warning encourages the exact action it forbids, the audio works especially well with fake buttons, suspicious links, covered objects, and dramatic reveals. Viewers usually recognize the prank within seconds, creating a mix of surprise, amusement, and mock frustration that suits short videos, streams, presentations, and messages between friends.

Rickrolling uses Rick Astley’s 1987 song Never Gonna Give You Up as the payoff to a bait-and-switch link or reveal. The prank became widely known online in 2007 after users redirected people expecting unrelated content to the song’s music video. “Do not touch” versions add reverse psychology by presenting a button or object that invites curiosity. The format remains popular because the opening is quickly recognized, the joke needs little explanation, and it can be adapted to messages, videos, games, streams, and presentations.
