The iconic 'Oh hi, Mark' line from The Room, spoken by Tommy Wiseau. People use this meme clip for awkward reveals, sudden entrances, and ironic edits.

This clip is the instantly recognizable “Oh hi, Mark” greeting from The Room, delivered in Tommy Wiseau’s stiff, oddly cheerful style. It is very short, blunt, and slightly unnatural, which is exactly why it lands so well in edits. The line sounds like a casual hello, but the awkward timing and performance give it a surreal, uncomfortable energy. That makes it perfect for videos where someone suddenly appears, walks into frame at the worst moment, or interrupts a scene with accidental comedy.

“Oh hi, Mark” comes from the 2003 cult film The Room, written, directed by, and starring Tommy Wiseau. The line became one of the movie’s most quoted moments as clips spread online through meme pages, YouTube compilations, and ironic reaction edits. Its staying power comes from how ordinary the words are compared with the famously awkward delivery. Even people who have never seen the full movie often recognize it as a shorthand for strange acting, uncomfortable timing, or an unintentionally funny entrance.
