Joan Laporta says critics only pretend to support FC Barcelona in this rally clip, claiming nobody would listen to them otherwise. Used to mock fake supporters.

Joan Laporta delivers this sharp, theatrical line in a rally speech, his voice rising as he accuses media critics of only pretending to be FC Barcelona supporters for attention. The delivery is fast, indignant and deliberately provocative, switching between Catalan-inflected Spanish and the punchy rhythm of a campaign crowd-pleaser. It lands like a direct challenge rather than a calm argument, making listeners feel the tension between the club president and the press. For Barcelona fans, it instantly recalls Laporta's combative public style and turns a political football moment into a ready-made retort for anyone accused of supporting the club only when it suits them.

The clip comes from one of Joan Laporta's most famous FC Barcelona rallies, delivered just before his well-known 'Al loro' warning to the media. In it, Laporta argues that some commentators only present themselves as Barcelona supporters because otherwise nobody would read or listen to them. Shared widely by Barça supporters on social media and in football chats, the line became a shorthand for calling out fair-weather fandom and hostile press coverage. Its direct, confrontational tone keeps it useful whenever a new media row erupts around the club, especially amid crowd cheering at supporter events.
